A philospher and romantic at heart, Derrick spent most of his life moving from one ministry experience to another. But it only took him one week of getting to know Mike Evans and watching his style of ministry to know that he had finally found something deeply Christ-like not only in its teaching, but in its approach, in its lifestyle, and in its complete dependence upon the power of God.
Derrick volunteered with Wholeness Ministries for two years before joining Mike's staff, and is fully committed to the restoration of people's hearts. His kindness and compassionate heart make him ideally suited to minister in the area of inner healing. He has authored the Warrior's Path blog for the past year and has been ministering to people all over the world with encouraging words of hope in the midst of warfare.
Derrick earned his undergraduate and Master's degrees in Christian Ministries from Wheaton College. Derrick and his wife Robyn currently reside in Farmington, Michigan with their two sons Tristan and Nathaniel.
Derrick loves the outdoors, writing, solitude, literature, fighting the Enemy, counseling, and most of all traveling. He is a self-educated authority on the writings of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. Derrick has been best friends with Wholeness Team partner David Anderson since they were twelve years old.

"To please God...to be a real ingredient in the divine happiness...to be loved by God, not merely pitied, but delighted in as an artist delights in his work or a father in a son -it seems impossible, a weight or burden of glory which our thoughts can hardly sustain. But so it is."
- C.S. Lewis
