Adventure in the Islands

Greetings and Aloha!!

David Anderson and I just returned from Hawaii where we had two incredible healing conferences on Oahu. Our first stop was at Dan Chun's Hawaiian Island Ministries at the First Presbyterian Church. We were honored to minister alongside Jack Deere and Christy Pierce for the four day conference. Jack opened the conference by teaching several sessions on hearing from God. Then I took up the reigns for five sessions on healing prayer combined with several practicums. Christy then capped off the conference with an excellent talk on avoiding burnout. Then on Sunday night we had a healing service which was open to all.

We had some incredible ministry times and saw God work many beautiful healings. When we did the very first demonstration on praying for healing a woman came up whose finger had been hurting inexplicably for several weeks. We prayed a very brief, simple prayer and all the pain immediately left. That may not seem like a big deal to you but if it was your finger it would be a big deal. That caught everyone's attention! Then a man came up who was hunched over with severe back and leg pain. He walked with a cane and was obviously in considerable pain. He asked that we pray for his knee so we prayed for him and the pain in his knee left but nothing immediately changed in his back. However, over the course of the weekend, with more prayer from the newly trained teams, not only did the pain in his back leave, but his back was straightened and he no longer needed his cane! Wonderful stuff!!

After four days with the crew from Hawaiian Island Ministries, it was off to our second conference at Dean Fujishima's church, Laulima Ministries International. I spoke for three consecutive nights and we followed with ministry time each night. I focused on intimacy and the importance of wasting time with God, which are two of my very favorite topics. The group really got excited about this new way of looking at spending time with the Father and the power that flows from close intimacy.

While we were at Dean's church we were also gifted with some incredibly free worship time. The highlight occurred on the second night when two young boys playing the drums spontaneously ushered in the Spirit of God in a really powerful way. That set the stage for a wonderful night of healing prayer.

We watched God work through the prayer teams to accomplish much inner healing and freedom from bondage. Many physical healings also occurred. We heard a beautiful testimony on the final night from an elderly Japanese lady whose hands had been in serious pain for years. She was in so much pain she couldn't even put rings on her fingers. She testified that a friend had brought her to the church on the second night and she had received prayer from some of the church members during one of our practicum sessions. Through tear filled eyes she held up her hands and showed us that she was wearing several rings on her fingers as she said that the pain and sensitivity in her hands was gone! Praise the Lord!!

We did also have a bit of free time to explore some of the gorgeous beauty that God fashioned in Hawaii. Some new friends took us sea kayaking, and cliff diving and we were able to lounge on Lanikai beach, which is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It was great fun and just what we needed after seven straight days of ministry.

I and the rest of us at Wholeness want to thank you so much for your continued support, both through your prayers and intercession and financially. Your gifts and support are what allow us to continue to spread our message of healing and intimacy all around the world.

As they say in Hawaii, "Mahalo! and Aloha!!"
