TESTIMONY FROM LAS VEGAS!
This e-mail was forwarded to me from Jay. I knew you would be encouraged by his story. I taught a one day class at Summit Bible College in Bakersfield, CA and this is one of the stories we heard following the class. (Mike Evans)
“Jay, I think you know this, but just in case you do not, I am a chaplain for Racers for Christ. We travel locally and nationally to NHRA drag racing events, hold chapel services, and pray with the drivers before they go down the track. www.teamrfc.org Last weekend I was the chaplain at the Super Chevy Show and drag race event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. We held two chapel services on Sunday (I had 6 decisions for Christ), did the invocation for the opening ceremonies, and went down from the tower into the staging lanes to pray with the drivers.
One of the teams in the lanes had about six crew members and one of them was the wife of the driver of the racecar. She was sitting in the back of the golf cart, which was towing the car, and her ankle was all taped up. I walked up to her and asked her what the problem was. She told me that she thought she had twisted it so badly that it was fractured and she couldn't put any pressure on it without it hurting. I asked her if I could pray for a healing. She said sure.
Now I have to tell you that the looks on the faces of the team guys as they were watching this unfold was jaw dropping. These guys were the typical doubting Thomas' and watched in amazement as I got down on my knees and grabbed onto her ankle with both of my hands and began asking her quesions just like those that we were trained to do in the class. I went silent waiting for any message that I might hear from the Spirit. The message I got was to pray and I will do the rest! So, that's what I did! I prayed for healing and repair of any fractures in the name of Jesus.
That evening, toward the end of the race, the husband came up to me and said, "I don't know how you did it, but my wife is feeling better. Her pain is almost gone and she is walking around right now." Of course I gave all the credit to Jesus. The next day on Monday as I am driving home I was going through some mountains and didn't receive a call, but later on Monday I retrieved the message. It was from Connie, the wife of the driver thanking me for the prayers. She said that she was completely pain free and walking around like nothing ever happened. Another testimony of the power of prayer and God's healing!
